This commitment guides how we recruit and retain board members, staff, partners, and volunteers—ensuring all voices are valued and empowered. People, Purpose, and Progress is a commitment to fostering a culture where all people are valued, purpose is intentional, and progress is continuous. It emphasizes creating an environment where individuals feel empowered, respected, and engaged, aligning with the organization's mission and goals. By prioritizing collaboration, innovation, and accountability, People, Purpose, and Progress drives meaningful impact, enhances effectiveness, and ensures sustainable growth for the organization and the communities it serves.

PEOPLE, PURPOSE, AND PROGRESS | VISION STATEMENT:
Our vision is to empower people with the tools they need to thrive at every stage of life—from cradle to career—by staying grounded in purpose and committed to progress for all. We acknowledge that barriers related to race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, stature, education, and socio-economic status can present challenges. We are committed to addressing these challenges through accountability, sustained action, and education. Through open collaboration with partners, community members, and organizations, we work together to create pathways for growth, opportunity, and lasting impact.

UNITED WAY OF MIDLAND WILL:

  • Provide Training: Offer annual People, Purpose, and Progress training—either in-person or virtual—to Partners, Board members, and Staff.1
  • Request Dis-Aggregated Data: UWM will annually request disaggregated client and community-level data from partners, including outcomes and demographics. This data will be used to analyze resource distribution and measure impact across the community. 1
  • Recruit:
    • Volunteers: Strive to recruit volunteers that represent all sectors of the community (Race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, stature, education, and socio-economic status, and age range (18+)). 1
    • Partner Agencies: Strive to gain and outreach to all agencies and non-profits regardless of race, size, religion, gender, and sexual orientation. (Leadership, board, and staff). 1

UNITED WAY OF MIDLAND PROGRAM FUNDED PARTNERS WILL (REQUIREMENTS):

  • Collect Dis-Aggregated Data: The agency will collect disaggregate data on outcomes selected by the agency.1
  • Complete Annual People, Purpose, and Progress Questionnaire.
