Yovanna is an energetic, talkative 11-year-old. She is in the fifth grade and has been going to the Taylor Park Boys & Girls Club since she was 6 years old. “It’s really fun. I actually do talk about the Boys and Girls Club a lot when I’m at school,” said Yovanna.
The Club is often the last or only option for families in many disadvantaged areas—providing, among other opportunities, reading programs, field trips, organized sports, arts and crafts, and access to computers for homework.
“I would use the computers a lot last year because I had a Google classroom,” Yovanna explained. “I don’t have a computer at home, so I used the computers here to do my assignments and homework.”
