$55,750 Available to Midland County Emergency Food and Shelter Programs
Organizations that meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply for this American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Funding:
- Operate as a private voluntary nonprofit or unit of government
- Have an accounting system
- Practice nondiscrimination
- Demonstrate the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter program(s) assisting newly unemployed
- Have a voluntary board (applies to private voluntary organizations only)
Deadline for completed application is Friday, February 12, 2010.

A local board made up of representatives from the City of Midland and many local service organizations is responsible for recommending agencies to receive the funds and the United Way of Midland provides the administrative staff and functions as a fiscal agent.
